Make Your Own Platacine Morph
Have you ever want to your own My Own Morph? These toys first came out in 1970 and were extremely popular. If you ever remember seeing the cartoon then you know exactly what I’m talking about. This Play-Doh like material is used to shape your own character where you can do animation. The substance they use to make it with is called plasticine is kind of like modeling clay. Plasticine is very similar to Play-Doh except it will never harden. Most of the claymation that you have seen on TV is made out of this material.
The My Own Morph kit is mostly sold for the purpose of creating your own animation but it can be used for many different things. Inside the kit you will get three blocks plasticine material along with five different accessories they can use to make your character with. Some of the different accessories include a cricket hat, a wizard’s hat, beard, and a skateboard. Every character you create should be unique so making your own props to go on your characters is highly encouraged.
You’ll also get a DVD that includes instructions on how to create your morph along with an instruction pamphlet. If that’s already not enough, you will get a DVD set of 15 episodes of My Own Morph so you can watch for enjoyment or to gain ideas on how to create your own animation. You’ll need to create your own characters because they don’t come prebuilt. You will receive the plasticine in a block from which you must shape your own character following the instructional DVD or using your own imagination.
To make your own animation all you will need is a digital camera or a WebCam on your computer and tons of imagination, they look great displayed on digital photo frames too. What you want to do is to start setting up your scene and when you’re finished just take a picture. The next part involves removing your character just slightly to show how they are moving and then take another picture. You just keep doing this over and over until you are done making the movie.
A great feature of plasticine is that it will never dry out so you can always remold it. Molding the plasticine could be difficult for children under three so they recommend an adult help out small children. In order to mold your characters you first must warm up the plasticine in order for you to be able to reshape it. This is an amazing product and you will not regret buying it.
