An Overview of Naveen Jain’s IT Brainchild

Naveen Jain’s 2003 startup Intelius has now grown into an intelligence services giant with more than eight million people served. It produces a full range of public intelligence services and products that count in background checks, criminal checks, people searches, identity theft prevention, employment screening, tenancy screening, reverse phone lookups, property reviews, email search, social net search, and date checks.

All of them contain content acquired from the databases of courthouses, department of corrections, telephone directories, address registries, real estate offices, government bureaus, and other public agencies. By their nature, the information disclosed in Intellius‘ products are publicly retrievable; none of them encroaches on others’ privacy. With a collection of 20 billion records in its database, Intelius is bound to have some form of data on almost any person on public record in America.

In particular, Intelius has garnered praise for its business solutions i.e. employment screening products. Magazines like HRO Today and Workforce Management have consistently heaped accolades on the company. For three years in a row, Intellius has made it to Workforce Management magazine’s “Hot List” of the best employment screening providers in the US. Better yet, the company was crowned the second best outsourced employment screening service provider of 2008 by HRO Today magazine. Additionally, the company emerged in the said magazine’s 2008 Winners’ Circle.

This is no surprise from the company that won the coveted Best New Company honors at the 2006 American Business Awards.

In terms of revenue, Intellius is making a proverbial killing. Deloitte & Touche, Inc. Magazine, and the Puget Sound Business Journal are in agreement that it is one of the fastest-growing companies of its size. For one, Intelius was part of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for North America, which ranks the continent’s fastest-growing technology-related firms.

Customers can find the company at its global headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. Otherwise, they can just access its comScore-ranking web portal, Intelius.com.
