The Plagiarist

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Short and simple yet direct and bold for the meantime, here’s something for plagiarists. Initially I thought of writing a longer article about PLAGIARISM, but eventually I decided: “What for? Such plagiarists don’t deserve a waste of my ink!” Thus, this article should suffice.

I couldn’t do anything anyway, but to CURSE them bloody PLAGIARISTS! Like leeches and mosquitoes, you suck the very lifeblood of writers like me. Like leeches and mosquitoes, anyway, you’ll soon be squashed in the end with just a simple slap of the palm.

Several friend writers have already aired their grave concerns about the proliferation of plagiarized works. In fact, one friend informed me that the testimonial I wrote of her on her Web profile has been plagiarized! Ha-ha-ha! Unbelievable! Even simple testimonials these plagiarists couldn’t spare.

I have not an iota of respect for plagiarists, but I pity them for their foolery. To quote my best friend, fellow writer Rain Paggao:

“What does profit a plagiarist if he gains the word but loses the command of his own pen?”

Personally, I’ve been seeing some of my original articles being posted here and there on the Internet without properly acknowledging me. Of course, I feel disrespected, or should I say, I feel being sucked of my lifebloodmy literary worksbut they can never suck dry my well of literary ink!

If only I could put a curse on my works:

Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue and cut thy fingers in sleep. Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue and cut thy fingers in sleep. Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue and cut thy fingers in sleep. Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue and cut thy fingers in sleep. Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue and cut thy fingers in sleep. Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue and cut thy fingers in sleep. Whoever steals even bits of these may bite thy tongue!

But I couldn’t do anything. Sometimes I get flattered, sometimes I am disgusted; but mostly, I get annoyed in a humorous way; for no decent writer (if a writer he may be called at all) will ever commit the gravest mortal sin in the literary worldPLAGIARISM.

The plagiarist, like cheap paper, burns in the end; the author, the true child of knowledge, like breeze, lingers on…comforting, soothing, reminding of something usually unseen yet certainly felt: respect and dignity.

Do you have the plan to purchase a stereo and need 15000 euro

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

That’s why now you really need to check over and experience if you can have a bank loan at a honest percent rate of interest. Check up to see if the moneylender who you a credit loan is beneficial. It doesn’t matter if you live in Fullerton California or in Burbank California a proficient online analysis will alleviate you often lots of disoblige.

12.6 percent rate may come out so fair but will that be unremitting after you’re going to riposte your money loan. Nowadays you can check up on interest rates quickly and protrude if there are other sneaky conditions you should know about. Many of the merchant banks wil show you a interest rate that looks proficient but feels poorly or so after a period of time. A merchant bank in Nampa Idaho or so may have a total different actual loan rate for a 25000 dollar loan then a bank in Eau Claire Wisconsin and that makes a immense clear gap in your weekly pay backs. You should be promising today to examine if you have a nice bargain or if you don’t with the bank that offers you a loan.

Rainy Days

rainy days pass me by
and i wonder why?
it’s cold out there but i am warm;
sitting waiting ’til she come.

i want to have that feeling again,
the feeling that ease all the pain
still eyes that struck me everytime;
wishing someday those will be mine.

rainy day pass me by
and i still wonder why?
will this feeling ever be ended?
or the love shown will just be wasted?

Journaling Techniques

By: Christin Snyder

So far we have discovered many of the benefits journaling provides. Some of them include: at-a-glance records of health/diet issues, spiritual/emotional healing, dream interpretation, and creative inspiration. The list is ongoing, but the point is they can be of great benefit to anyone who uses them.

Journaling is something that can be personalized to suit the needs of every individual. Journals are not just diaries where you spend hours each day recording all your deepest, darkest, secrets. Journals can be very practical, and in many cases, can simplify the lives of those who use them. Everyone can find at least one style of journaling to benefit from, regardless of how busy their lifestyle is.

Below are some of the different types of journals that can be created. Keep in mind one does not have to be a writer at all to benefit from journaling. In fact, many writers, myself included, didn’t realize their passion for writing until picking up a journal. Words can work for all of us.

*Dream Journaling

Recording dreams in a journal gives you a window into your subconscious. Our dreams reveal the depths of our being. Dream journals allow us to better remember our dreams, to view repeating patterns, and to explore and interpret our own unique dream language. Many who keep them are surprised by how much they learn about themselves, and how effective these journals are in the healing and growth process.

*Personal Diaries

These are the standard lock and key books many of us have kept since childhood. This kind of journal allows us to record daily life experiences, our thoughts, feelings, and actions. This type of journal serves a great purpose, it allows us to express ourselves freely without judgment. Reviewing these journals over time allows us to see how much we have grown and changed. Often the old ones are humorous ;) , and we can see just how much wiser we’ve become.

*Food/Exercise Lifestyle Journals

These journals are wonderful for those embarking on new health/improvement goals. By recording your progress, you are able to look back and see at-a-glance how far you’ve progressed. This is a powerful way to remain motivated to achieve goals. This type of journal is also beneficial as a way to track your health and answer any potential questions healthcare providers or other advisors may have for you.

*Mood Journals

The benefit of this style of journal is to track our emotions and find the reasons for different emotional shifts, mood swings etc. For people with anxiety disorders, depression, or shifting hormones, these types of journals provide tremendous benefits in being able to look at the effects of various elements. Record in this journal your feelings, why you are having them, and anything that may be having an effect such as diet, medication, stress levels etc.

*Quotations Journals

These journals are wonderful for a variety of reasons. Use them as a quick pick-me-up, sparks for writing, or to inspire others. These journals are the simplest to keep because it only takes a moment to add a quote or phrase to your collection. Let this fun journal keep you inspired.

*Writer Sparks Journals

For those of us who love to write, this journal can be a great tool for dealing with writers block and keeping the creative juices flowing. Ever noticed how those great ideas always seem to pop up at inopportune moments? Have you ever just sat there staring at the blank screen wishing something would come out? Keeping a small notebook/journal with you can help you to record these little ideas as they come up, or you can jot down your idea and add it later. Whenever you want to write, open up your journal and out pops some great material to get you started.

*Electronic Calendars/Journals in one

In the electronic age we are provided with a whole new set of options. Our planners and organizers can also be incorporated into journaling through different software programs that allow you to keep your information encrypted and safe from prying eyes. This is a convenient way to keep everything organized in one centralized location, and can keep even the severest procrastinator in the habit of keeping notes.

These are just a few examples of the many different styles of journaling. Everyone can find a method or combination of methods that works well for them. Now that you have seen the benefits, the various style ideas, and the keys to successful journaling I hope you will be inspired to use writing as the healing tool it can be.

I Wish

Monday, November 24th, 2008

I wish I didn’t get to know you

So that you’d still be a mystery

I wish we didn’t share moments together

So that I’d still find you cute

I wish I didn’t feel anything

So that you’d still be special

I wish you didn’t have to nice

Just to be with me

I wish you didn’t make me feel so in love

So that I didn’t get hurt

I wish we didn’t kiss

So that I didn’t feel weird

I wish you weren’t so true

So that you couldn’t know anything about me

I wish you weren’t so sweet

So that you didn’t make me fall

I wish you didn’t care

So that I could be strong

I wish you weren’t kind

To think of how I felt

I wish you didn’t hug me

So I could stay away

I wish you didn’t hold me

So that I don’t have to long for you

I wish you already hurt me from the start

So that I could say goodbye

I wish you stayed

So that I didn’t have to cry

I wish you didn’t look at me

So that I didn’t feel weak

I wish I didn’t see you smile

So that I didn’t get a headache

I wish you fell for me too

So that this dream could be real

I wish I didn’t know you

So that you’d still be my crush

I wish you didn’t hurt me with your lie

So that I’d now be so in love

I wish I didn’t say these things

‘Cause it just made me miss you so much more

How to harness the power of ebooks for the benefit of your w

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Ebooks can be a powerful tool when it comes to promoting and profiting from your website. To be able to benefit from ebooks, it is important to know how to use them to their full potential.

There are two big ways in which ebooks can be used to benefit you and your site:

1.Promotion
2.Profiting

Both of these are extremely important. Without promoting your site and receiving enough visitors, it is impossible to profit, which is the ultimate aim of a successful internet business.

Promotion:

Ebooks are especially good for advertising your website. They cost almost nothing to produce and can be easily distributed via an email. You can either use an ebook which you have created yourself, or you can use another author’s ebook, provided you have permission. Here is how to advertise your site to unknown levels using an ebook:

- Use an ebook with a broad appeal, so as to achieve a maximum range of interest from many people. However, try to keep the ebook relevant to your site’s subject matter. This way, those who travel to your site through the ebook will find more that interests them on your site. This is how to turn browsers of your ebook into buyers on your site.

- Once you have chosen your ebook’s subject try to write the content similarly to your site. Add a link to the site you want to promote at the beginning and end of every page in the ebook. Make sure that these links are visible, and that it is made clear to the viewer where these links go to. Within the content of the ebook, while talking about something which can be found directly at your site, a link can also be added. However, make sure not to clutter your ebook with links and ads. This looks unprofessional and gives viewers a bad impression.

- Having finished the ebook’s content, check furiously for spelling mistakes or missing punctuation. These mistakes lead the viewer to believe that the author is unprofessional and even that the site may be insecure and badly run.

- Now comes a crucial part. Make sure on the very front of the ebook, or somewhere where everyone will be able to see, that you have put a statement such as this:

“You may redistribute this ebook freely so long as the content inside remains the same”

This will mean that anyone you receives your ebook will be able to pass it on, so long as they don’t change it. Given the fact that ebooks are a very popular form of displaying information nowadays, people are very likely to give your ebook away, whether it be a freebie on their site or a gift to newcomers. More and more people will have a copy of your ebook, with your link which goes straight back to your site. People are bound to click on your link if they’re interested.

- Now with your completed ebook, you can start distributing. Give it to all your friends and family and anyone else who you know. Tell them to distribute it everyone in their email address book. Do not be afraid to contact a site which sells or gives away ebooks and ask them if they will distribute it. The chances are that they will. Big ebook sites need new ebooks to keep going. Contact sites which have a similar subject matter as the subject of your ebook and ask them if they will distribute it. Don’t forget to distribute your ebook freely on your own site, because this will gain your site popularity. If you need help distributing your ebook, my site http://www.info-ebooks.co.uk would be happy to distribute it for you.

Once you have distributed a number of copies, if you have distributed it well to many sets of people, your ebook will soon do its work. People will start clicking on your links from all over the web and in addition, you have also made a small name for yourself on the web. This will increase the popularity and trust in your site.

Profiting:

Obviously through the promoting of your website using ebooks, the profits will increase. However, there are other ways in which to profit using ebooks:

- The most obvious way to make money through ebooks is by selling them. However, there are already many huge companies doing this and it is hard for little companies and websites to keep up. Nevertheless, try to offer just that little bit extra on your ebook deal compared to everyone else’s. You have to try and make your deal seem special. Add a couple of bonuses and maybe a useful bit of software too.

- Profit through ebooks by offering them as a bonus with another, more expensive product you are selling on your website. You would be surprised at how a browser will choose your product over others, just because your product has an ebook free with it. If you can make this ebook relevant to the item you are coupling it with, or you could make the ebook yourself, then more people will buy from you and people will be prepared to pay more. The ebook costs you nothing either so it is a perfect give-away.

- Affiliate links can also be posted in ebooks you create yourself. Earn yourself money by placing these links in relevant places in the content of the ebook. For example if your ebook talks about music, then include a link to a popular music website which you know will give you a slice of the profits if a sale is made. If your ebook is distributed correctly, your affiliate link could be viewed by thousands of people per week. The site I recommend for affiliate marketing is http://www.clickbank.com.

- Also think about putting a very limited amount of ads in your ebook. Many companies will pay you to put an ad in your ebook. However, there is a very fine line between making money through ads and losing money due to too many unprofessional ads. Try to make your ads blend into your ebook and make them relevant to the subject matter too.

Most importantly with ebooks, always be thinking of new ways in which you think you could distribute them or use them to profit. Creativity is a key part of a successful ebook marketing campaign.

Have You Settled On First Choice When Choosing A Title?

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Short Story Writing Tips –

We’ve established what a title should be and we’ve also established your title is your selling tool. So if it can make or break the sale of your story, then we’ll have to agree that it is extremely important. How much emphasis have you placed when selecting a title?

  1. You can’t write a story before titling it, so you jotted down the first thing that came to mind.
  2. You added it as an afterthought when you completed the story.
  3. You put a lot of thought into it and selected the best one.

I hope it was the latter – and I hope you did this…

  1. You noted down as many titles as you could think of
  2. Then crossed out the titles you thought were ’so-so’
  3. And kept the most grabbing title of them all?

You did do this, didn’t you?

Snob-Bloggers: You Just Might Be A Snob If You Publish A Blo

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

You Might Be A Snob-Blogger If…

According to Jupiter Research, about 2 percent of the online community has created a blog. That works out to millions and millions of blogs, and in turn, millions and millions of snobs who publish them. That’s an awful lot of Snob-Bloggers!

You see, in order to care enough to publish a blog, you really need to be somewhat of a snob. Before we get into the reasons why, let’s look at the definition of snob.

Snob – 1. One who tends to patronize, rebuff, or ignore people regarded as social inferiors and imitate, admire, or seek association with people regarded as social superiors. 2. One who affects an offensive air of self-satisfied superiority in matters of taste or intellect. (As defined on Dictionary.com)

Combine that definition with the definition of a blogger, and you get a Snob-Blogger, defined as ‘anyone who blogs, period’. Yes that’s right, bloggers by nature are snobs.

Not me you say! Yes, you too! ALL bloggers are Snob-Bloggers! Do you publish a blog? Don’t believe it? Take this handy dandy quiz to see if you fit the mold.

1. Have you ever commented about someone or something in a negative or superior manner on your blog? If so, you just might be a Snob-Blogger.

2. Do you and your blog readers commiserate about topics together on your blog comment system? If true, it’s possible you might be a Snob-Blogger.

3. Does your blog link to all of your other blog friends who link back to you? On that occasion, you are most likely a Snob-Blogger.

4. If you have ever ranted about something that is only interesting to you and your blogger friends, you, I’m afraid are a Snob-Blogger.

5. If you know what RSS means, I’m guessing you are a Snob-Blogger.

6. If you would stop publishing your blog because you knew nobody was reading it, you my friend are most likely a Snob-Blogger.

7. Do you recognize Wil Wheaton as someone other than the geeky kid from Star Trek: The Next Generation? If so, you are certainly a Snob-Blogger.

Other Snob-Blogger characteristics include:

Writing rants and opinions about things you never bothered to learn about first

Thinking that your blog is just as, or more powerful than the mass mainstream media

Games: Gambling House Taking a Risk

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

If you haven’t figured out gaming establishment card playing, please read on… Generally speaking a casino is an edifice that caters to games of chance. Guests will hopefully test their luck by operating slot-machines or trying out alternative pastimes of luck. Casino games on the whole include absolutely determined percentages included which maintain that the gambling saloon maintains dominion against the betters.

Countless gaming room games can instigate you to get dependent very swiftly. Consider the the famous slot-machine, a cash operated instrument with 3 or more drums that whirl when a crank affixed to it is wrenched. This machine by and large will compensate punters in accordance with a given series of emblems observable on the display of the appliance. Unfortunately, gaming room games proffer the apparition of domination, thereby deluding the betting fan – the punter is provided with choices, but in reality they can not realistically level the gamer’s disadvantage. That is induced by the gaming establishment never refunding the full sum as hoped for. This theory is notoriously noticeable in well known casino games such as Texas hold’em poker, dice, roulette or blackjack.

Five card stud is doubtlessly an immensely trendy casino pastime. The guests, closely guarding their fully screened hands, bet in a central pot which is then given to the winning player blessed with the leading set of cards. (And as eveyone knows, the coolest bluffing hand may well prevail) Quite like Texas hold’em poker, blackjack too is an immensely fashionable casino pastime. An amount of its renown is based on its particular mix of luck and talent & decision making, not to mention a practice named “card counting”. It is a pretty complicated strategy in which players are in a position to force the winning odds of the card game to give them an advantage both by betting & strategic decisions corresponding with the cards dealt.

“Craps” is a famous casino wagering game where you bet money on the roll of 2 dice. Players are betting on the score of one roll, or on a series of rolls of 2 dice. In contrast to blackjack, there just isn’t any feasible sustainable winner system players can make capital of to beat the odds. Roulette is another crowd pulling casino game in the course of which a croupier spins a roulette wheel featuring exactly thirty-seven (European roulette) or thirtyeight (American roulette) independently marked receptacles in which a tossed ball must settle, thereby marking the final winning number as well as the other chances that come with it. If the gamer bets on a number and makes it so it’s their lucky day, the remuneration is 35 to one, the original wager itself being paid back. Indeed in totality the stake itself is multiplied by thirty-six.

Please make sure to be vigilant for many of these gaming hall games are decidedly dependency forming. A totally unacceptable number of lives have probably been ruined thru gambling + though it indisputably seems entertaining, do aspire to moderate yourself.
